OddHouse is a brand that seeks to merge the coffeehouse experience with the delight of an art gallery experience. A surrealist style was chosen to complement the atmosphere of creativity that the coffee hours invites others to experience and contribute to.
Project Overview
OddHouse’s primary focus is on providing good quality coffee while customers enjoy artwork, music, and poetry all throughout the building. All are welcome and Oddhouse always has room for more dreamers, weirdos, and creative souls.

To create a space that specifically helps the gifted yet undiscovered artists, musicians, and all other manner of creative souls become known within their own community.

About the Art Style

The main idea of surrealism was generated after the Dadaist movement. Where the Dada movement was an Anti Art movement, surrealism was something completely different bringing the unconscious and conscious together. Surrealist artists wanted to combine the dream and reality (a state which lay in between the horizons of mythical and real world) and try to put it on one canvas.
Surrealism, a word later added in the dictionary by 1967, was initiated in France from the 1920s to 1950’s. Guillame Appollinere who was a poet was the first one to name this art movement as Surrealism. The main influences of this art movement were Dadaism and Abstractism. Moreover, this art movement further influenced Abstract Expressionism and Post Modernism.
Surrealist artists were portraying not the logical world but the psychological situations. The artist was trying to give emphasis on illogical placing of objects and the awkwardness they cause. Andre Breton was the think tank for this art movement, art critic and French poet who led this movement. He was first to release an art manifesto for the Surrealist Movement in 1924.
